Warped Tour Down Under!

Okay so it has been announced after leaving us in 2001 that the Vans Warped Tour will rise again. Though we don't know the line up yet or venues or any other crucial information the tour dates have at least been published. Many are assuming that the line up is most likely local though I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet because for all I know the line up could be terrible and we wouldn't want that, though I'll be happy when I know who's playing. It's been 12 years since the last tour so it will be interesting to see 2013's show.

Australian Warped tour dates are: Friday 29th December Brisbane, 30th Coffs Harbour, 1st Sydney, Friday 6th Camberra and Sunday 8th Adelaide.

Agnes Brown is Comming to Australia!

Tonight's Channel Seven's Sunday Night Program featured an interview with The BBC's Mrs Brown's Boys actor Brendan O'Carroll. This interview gives the audience who is famillar with the show Mrs Brown's Boys an insight on Brendan O'Carroll's life. Brendan O'Carroll was the youngest of 11 children living in a 3 bedroom house his father died when he was 9 so he was brought up by his mother for the majority of his life. Brendan O'Carroll suffered from dyslexia even though has the IQ of a genius. He has Married twice and has struggled with the loss one of his children. He had major debts before his success with Mrs Brown's Boys on failed investments. Before working with the BBC Brendan O'Carroll worked as a Stand Up commedian and then had a show on the radio. He worked in Theatre for quite a while where he took on to play the Character Mrs Brown which resembled his widow mother in a less educated way.

Being a fan of the Comdy TV show Mrs Brown's Boys I was very excited to hear that the cast would be coming to Australia to perform at the Alphones Areana some time next year. The Cast is made up of Brendan O'Carroll's Family members and close friends. It's contriversial because the humour in the show can be seen as crude, even though Mrs Brown's Boys has been extremely sucessful.

Cats Not Just a Musical

What I've noticed over the last year is that no one can get enough of cats especially on social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr as well as cats and it's not just cats it's memes too and for those of you who don't know what a meme is  I would define a meme as a humorous picture usually with a caption or short comical sentence for what is happening in the picture. Well that's what Meme is to me anyway if you want an extremely dull boring explanation I'll link you to Wikipedia Wikipedia definition of Meme Click here I'm still not sure if they've explained what a meme is in popular culture... Anyway moving on so I've noticed many cat memes recently and if you haven't seen the one below this cat has gone viral for it's "grumpy" appearance also known as Grumpy Cat I'm seriously surprised if you don't know it. Anyway these things are everywhere on most popular networking sites so Beware of the Cat Memes!

How To

How to

Remember how hard it used to be to learn something new? Well I sure don't! Thanks to youtube it's no longer extremely hard to learn anything at all, all you have to do is type in a simple sentence starting in How to..and bam! Easy as that! You can learn a new skill within 10 minutes and of course in todays society everyone is doing just that. There are video tutorials ranging from how to tie a shoe to how to speak french. I love how it's just so accessible to almost anyone to learn skills from observing a video clip of someone experienced in that particular area at any place any time. Technology has sure come a long way in a very short time and because of it education is not such a hard thing to receive ...that is if you're not so easily distracted..I'm sure most of you can relate to this... You wanted to learn the basics of writing a resume so you type in: How to write a resume on youtube and you end up scrolling through all the suggestions in the sidebar and you see a cute video of a kitten you click on this and three hours later you've watched 35 different videos yet none of them have anything to do with writing a resume.

Well I can't count how many times I've done something similar to that, but hey some people just get side tracked anyhow my point of this post is that there's so many ways of education available to us now that limitations are rare besides of course that they do come with many distractions. My hope for the future of learning is that eventually is that if you are not able to learn in any other way that the internet will be a good source of education in the future. Though there is a debate on whether not being able to interact in a social environment, or ask questions and get feedback effects a person psychologically.

MEDIA REFORMS NOT PASSED

PM says media reform moves over
So recently I've been reading up on the media reforms which I am happy to say have not passed through parliament as the Labor Party will not be trying again soon as confirmed by Julia Gillard.
Apparently the governments plan on introducing new media laws have failed. So basically you can agree or disagree with them but there's one thing I know for sure and that is these laws have not passed and are no longer valid so we can all breathe and get on with our lives now.

GOATS & SUCH

I don't know if anyone has noticed lately but on youtube there seems to be a trend with goats especially goat remixes if you're not familar with it I'll just explain to you what it is So basically it's a video of a popular song and for all the long held vocal notes oooohs and aaaahs and yeaahhs and such people have cut out the singing and replaced it with a goat bleating.Yes I know pretty weird yeah? It's pretty hilarious I strongly suggest you ladies and gents check it out. It will either leave you asking yourself what is this world coming to? Or you will be rolling on the floor laughing at this insane but hilarious trend.

INTRODUCING THE SAMSUNG FLEXIBLE PHONE

I've decided to discuss the recent unveiling of the new Samsung flexible phone! yay for technology finally a phone you can drop without breaking! It's more durable because it’s plastic screen which can be flexed without distorting the resolution of the phone. The phone can be folded out to make the screen larger and folded to fit into a smaller hand held size. The article that I've linkedhttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/ces/9792166/CES-2013-Samsung-flexible-phone-prototype-unveiled.html also states that the phone can display on its sides as well.
What? a new mobile phone with even more features from existing mobile phones I have no doubt that this will change society as the technology will improve enabling us to do more things that were not possible before. This is proof of changing technologies in mobile phones this means more accessibility more potential of what we can do in the context of media.
